Verdict

Four-year-olds have won six of the last ten and are well represented. Vastonea was that age when landing this in 2012 and he won it again last year. He's only 1lb higher than last year's victory and will make a bold bid for a hat-trick. Brendan Brackan scored in 2013 and has won a Group 3 and a Listed race subsequently yet he's only 2lb higher so is another likely to be thereabouts. Lat Hawill has done very well since joining Ger Lyons and though he only had two to beat at Gowran his close second to Heaven's Guest in a Naas Listed event previously points to his chances after the winner landing a heritage handicap at Ascot on Saturday. However, third-placed STAY DE NIGHT (NAP), who was having only his fourth start and his first since September, looks the one to take from the race and is handed the vote. He finished behind Baraweez last season but has more scope than Brian Ellison's tough campaigner, who was third behind Vastonea a year ago before winning at the fixture a few days later and at Leopardstown.
