Verdict

Dermot Weld has won this nine times in 25 years and VALAC should add to the tally. He started odds-on for his first two starts and was beaten by a Ballydoyle inmate on both occasions before finishing third to yet another Aidan O'Brien winner at Gowran. He's been given a break and wears a visor for the first time which can see him home. Ibergman improved a little at Leopardstown and looks a threat while B Cosmos is another to get a first-time visor after a moderate effort at Navan. Unyielding came in for strong support on his debut over a mile at Killarney and led for a long way so the drop in trip should enable him to go close. Yulong Xiongfeng has run moderately at Dundalk but did better on Turf last year.
