Verdict

Harlestone Gold ran a promising race on his debut at Folkestone last month but the close proximity of the third, who is only rated 57, is a concern to that form and a safer option looks to be LOUGH DIVER, who gets the vote over Shayera. The last mentioned ran better on a softish surface at Windsor last time than he had on faster ground on his debut but he probably needs to improve again to trouble the selection. Gary Moore's Drum Major is becoming rather exposed after six starts, while David Pipe's Dinarius returns to the flat having disappointed on his only start over hurdles when last seen. Preference then is for the Mark Tompkins-trained Lough Diver, who showed improved form for racing on a soft surface when chasing home Interchange in a Newmarket maiden last time and a reproduction of that effort may well suffice.
