Verdict
With just 4lbs separating Island House, Rawyaan, Endless Hall and Vintage Premium on official ratings, this promises to be a tightly knit affair. Winner of this event back in 2000, and runner-up last year, Island House is the choice to continue his good record in this event. Geoff Wragg's enigmatic character, has been one of the main flag bearers over the past few years for his stable and can normally be relied upon to run his race, despite looking less than enthusiastic on occasions. Darryll Holland, who knows him so well, will again be on board and he is taken to prove too strong for Rawyaan, who finished a length in front of the selection in the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton last month. Rawyaan the winner of 50% of his races is a progressive colt, and like the selection, is a winner here. Endless Hall, the winner of the Singapore Cup back in 2001, has not been the same since and didn't exactly look a winner waiting to happen on his comeback in a Conditions race at Headquarters. Vintage Premium is closely matched with the selection on their run at Ayr last year and if allowed too softer lead, could be difficult to peg back, while former stablemates Cape Town and King's Ironbridge are both some way below their best at present.
