In depth
Verdict
A decent staying contest with last years 6th Court Shareef looking to face a hopeless task of improving on that effort from a 12lbs higher mark, so it may pay to concentrate on Distinction, Flownaway and Chai Walla, with the latter getting the nod. Henry Cecil's four-year-old looked an improved performer when disposing of some useful rivals in what looked a competitive contest at Headquarters last month. Raised just 4lbs for that effort, he still looks well treated and with this step up in trip also in his favour, he is the one they all have to beat. Main threat should come from Distinction, who is from a yard that is going through a purple patch having turned out 14 winners in the past 14 days. Like the selection, he is lightly raced and open to improvement. Flownaway didn't see the trip out in the Chester Cup and will be more at home over this trip. However, it could be that the Handicapper has hold of him for the time being. Last years Cesarewitch winner Miss Fara didn't have much luck over timber during the winter and it is doubtful whether this will be enough of a stamina test for her. She has something to find with both Moon Emperor and Mana D'Argent on their running at Ascot last year, and of those three the latter may have the edge this time around.
