In depth

Verdict

Ballyhurry, Mystical Ayry and Hurricane Thomas are the ones we focus on in this wide open affair, with Mystical Ayr taken to score. Mark Johnston's Hurricane Thomas was very consistent last season in four attempts, with his best effort coming when chasing home the useful Guiseppe Verdi. By Celtic Swing he will appreciate any cut and should be fit enough for his seasonal re-appearance. Ballyhurry likes the track, having won a seller here this season, before landing a claimer next time. He was well beaten back in handicap company last time though, and he has not won in this sphere for over two years so is taken on. The epitome of consistency, Mystical Ayr has been knocking at the door this season, finishing a staying on second last time. This dual Ayr scorer is well treated at the moment, and Mystical Ayr is taken to atone for those near misses and pick up a deserved success here.
