        Verdict

        With the ground coming in her favour, Lady Bear is fancied to land this good prize, with Dumaran, Terfel and Football Crazy the likeliest dangers. Richard Fahey's filly is definitely at her best with cut in the ground, so it is fair to say she has performed very well on unfavoured ground on all three starts this season, the most recent when second to the very progressive Aldora in Listed company at Newmarket. The last time she encountered easy ground she absolutely bolted up in last year's Spring Mile at Doncaster, and with the weights very much in her favour she gets the nap vote on the card. Dumaran is another who likes an easy surface and should be spot on after two runs this season, the most recent when not disgraced in Epsom's City And Suburban Handicap. Terfel was a little disappointing on his reappearance in Kempton's Jubilee Stakes but Michael Bell's gelding would certainly come into the reckoning on last year's form, while Football Crazy handles any ground and hinted at a return to form when fifth at Newmarket last time. Winning Venture is an interesting contender on his first start for David Nicholls, and would certainly have claims on his best form, but is probably best watched on his seasonal debut.
