Verdict
Inch Island is taken to defy his penalty, with Jagger, Call Of The Wild and the hat trick seeking Yalla the best of the opposition. John Quinn's gelding put a disappointing effort at Newcastle behind him when winning in good fashion at Carlisle last week, and may just be good enough to defy a penalty here. Although that victory came on fast ground, he had earlier finished second to Craiova on yielding ground at Newcastle, and that form is working out extremely well so the going should hold no fears for him. Jagger has been running well over sprint distances but Gerard Butler's colt is bred to appreciate every yard of this nine furlongs so could easily be good enough to win on his handicap debut, and he rates as a big danger. Call Of The Wild put up a much-improved performance when third at Beverley last time and could be on the upgrade, although he is unproven on soft ground. Yalla comes here on a hat trick after two wins on the sand, and he would be an obvious threat under Darryll Holland if he can prove as effective back on turf.
