Latalomne is selected to land the spoils over Millennium Hall and Cosmic Case in this amateur riders' event to open the card. Trainer Noel Wilson has not looked back since changing stables and bids to keep up his good recent run with Latalomne who will again be ridden by his wife Nicki. She gave the six-year-old a confident ride at Ripon a week ago, coming from the back to score nicely, and a six-pound penalty may not stop the gelding who is still extremely well treated on his best form. Winner of the Thirsk Hunt Cup off over a stone higher mark in 1999, he seems revitalised by the move from Brian Ellison, and may go back over fences for a crack at a decent chase at Market Rasen this summer. First things first though, and he is expected to follow up here. Millennium Hall, down to run in a valuable handicap at Carlisle yesterday, will be a danger if turning out, but any rain will hinder his chance. He should maintain recent form over Cosmic Case who needs a strong gallop though, and can give Latalomne, our idea of the winner, most to do.
