        Verdict

        Go Solo should be up to landing this competitive handicap with fellow winners Anthemion and Hula Ballew respected. Fast ground looks to have reawakened Go Solo's enthusiasm for the game and with Alan Swinbank now in charge, he seems a different horse from that who sulked on the soft for Barry Hills. He gives the impression he will stay nine furlongs and we will back our own judgement. Anthemion showed at Ayr that her previous Hamilton success was no fluke. The form of that Ayr race was upheld last night at Nottingham by Commitment Lecture so she has to be considered to be a major danger on the back of that run. Regent's Secret got going too late when he met Anthemion. He was disappointing though at Sandown and has certainly been to the well relatively often of late. Hula Ballew gains full marks for consistency although few marks for winning. Turned over in a classified stakes, he has ability but is too prone to squandering chances in races that need to be run to suit. Jordan's Elect has been well held in similar affairs and is opposed. Windhover is watched in the market for clues. His overall profile has been disappointing but he has shown an aptitude for fast ground in the past. Go Solo is on a roll and we seek not to oppose another success tonight.
