    Verdict

    MADANY can make the most of the weight concession and reverse previous form with Hortensia, while the debutant winner Soraaya can also run well. Mick Channon sent Soraaya on the long haul to Hamilton for her first appearance, and it was worthwhile as she stretched clear of a select field. The form may be decent despite the lack of numbers that day in the opposition, and she is respected, though she has a penalty to carry. Hortensia showed progressive form, including a Newmarket maiden success, accounting for Madany, before being outclassed at the Royal meeting. Conceding 5lbs to Madany may be difficult as Barry Hills' filly has run another sound race since, narrowly beaten at Redcar, and that race has thrown up a couple of winners. She was made favourite that day, but Madany can make it third time lucky here.
