In depth

Verdict

Love Regardless was held in high regard by those at Middleham last season and it would be no surprise to him return to winning ways now that Mark Johnston's horses have hit form and he is taken to get the better of Millennium Force and Patsy's Double. The selection looked in need of the run behind stablemate Desert Deer at Sandown last week over a mile. That outing should have brought him on a bundle and, with the drop in trip likely to suit, he gets the nod. Millennium Force hails from a stable in form and also comes here having last run a week ago when a close third behind Tillerman at Leicester. This is tougher though and a bigger threat to the Johnston horse could come from Patsy's Double. Although Michael Blanshard's gelding has gone some time since last successful, the son of Emarati is an admirably consistent performer and, with ground conditions to suit, he should go close. Membership looks the best of the remainder but he may struggle against older and more experienced rivals.
