In depth
Verdict
Although having ground conditions to suit Eastern Magenta looks to have plenty of weight and, on his seasonal reappearance, any lack of fitness in the topweight can be exploited by Quicks The Word, who gets the vote over River Falcon and Magic Myth. Chris Thornton's gelding disappointed on fast ground at Newmarket's Craven meeting last time but is worth another chance on the form shown when second to Fair Shake on a softer surface at Newcastle previously. River Falcon is gradually slipping down the handicap and warrants respect after a fair fourth to a well handicapped rival at Kempton last time, while Magic Myth has ground conditions to suit. Scary Night has shown progressive form on the all-weather this winter but is not certain to reproduce the form back on turf.
