Verdict
A wide open handicap gets proceedings underway and as usual in these types of events jockeyship will be all important, and with this in mind the principals look to be New Wish, Acuzio and Peter's Imp and the tentative vote is given to the last named. The selection has one of the best jockeys aboard for this type of event and ran as if about to hit form when fourth behind Aleemdar. He remains at the right end of the weights and in an open affair he is the token choice. New Wish is a shadow of his former self but as a consequence he has dropped to a very handy mark. He goes well for inexperienced riders and should be noted in the market. Acuzio is another with a top jockey booked for this type of race and he was a fair third behind Shifty last time out - but his best form is over a shorter trip and for that reason he is opposed. Penwell Hill would have place claims on his best form but he disappointed for no apparent reason last time so can not be put forward with any confidence. Pension Fund has dropped to a handy mark and could go well at a price as he usually runs well fresh, but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Peter's Imp.
