      Verdict

The step up in trip should not be a problem for Coat Of Honour in this company and he is taken to follow up Tuesday's victory at Brighton despite having to carry a 6lb penalty for his troubles. The consistent Clarinch Claymore can battle it out with Wiggy Smith for the minor honours. However, the manner in which Coat Of Honour pulled away from his rivals three days ago left the impression that the handicapper still has some catching up to do with the Mark Of Esteem gelding, and he may just have too much resilience for this exposed bunch tonight. Trusted Mole and Octane are probably the best each way alternatives to steal a place of those at longer odds. But both are exposed as moderate performers and lack the scope of the selection.
