Verdict
Marcus Tregoning's Three Graces is progressing along the right lines and has to be respected but needs to improve again and we prefer to side with another three-year-old Al Jadeed, who gets the verdict over Attache and Gateman. The last mentioned is trained by Mark Johnston and has claims on the form shown when winning the Diomed Stakes at Epsom. However, he was (not surprisingly) well beaten in the Queen Anne Stakes next time and has, worryingly, not been seen since. Attache, another of the older brigade is arguably better over seven furlongs and may be outstayed in this company. With neither Pentecost nor Checkit making much appeal, the vote goes to Al Jadeed. John Gosden's colt showed progressive form last term which wound up with a victory in the Royal Lodge and, after a couple of pipe openers this season, should be spot on now. Trip and ground should be ideal for Al Jadeed, who looks worth chancing in a weak Listed race.
