In depth

Verdict

Moon King completed a four-timer when scoring over 1m6f on heavy ground here then won over the same trip at Chester. He ran a bit better than his figures suggest when stepped up to this grade later and should have no problems staying the trip. Charlie D has won seven of 22 starts including at this level and over the trip so has to be respected but SLEEPING LION (NAP) is taken to make a successful reappearance. He was conceding Themaxwecan 12lb when beaten just over a length over this trip in the Brown Jack at Ascot and receives 1lb here. Blue Laureate, who was just behind in third, has won over the trip while Just Hubert contested strong events over shorter after scoring over this trip at Ayr.
