In depth

Verdict

Just about all of these are stoutly-bred and stepping up to the trip for the first time. Selecto ran over 1m1f on heavy ground at Newmarket in November so today's trip and ground will hold no terrors. Harmonious couldn't quite hold True Scarlet over 1m2f at Lingfield but stayed on when headed while Gibraltar looked in need of a stamina test in his runs last year and should get one here. Duke Of Condicote disappointed when well supported for a Class 2 handicap over 1m2f at Nottingham in October so better must have been expected. Bahrani Star was engaged in a Listed contest at Newmarket yesterday so the vote goes to AQUASCAPE, who showed promise in a couple of runs on Polytrack in the autumn and will be much better suited by the trip and ground here.
