Young Mick provided Richard Quinn with his last ever winner as a jockey at Royal Ascot last month and faces a harder task off his new mark under Jimmy Quinn today in a race where the vote goes to Ouninpohja, who is preferred to Thunder Rock. The last mentioned has the ability to win a decent handicap like this but Sir Michael Stoute's horse is proving to be expensive to follow and may be best watched. Signatory was good value for his defeat of subsequent Northumberland Plate second River Alhaarth at Newmarket last time but that was on a softer surface and it remains to be seen whether he is as effective on today's ground. Star of Light is a consistent performer and can be expected to run his usual good race again, while Gavroche is capable but this looks too tough for him. Ouninpohja had no luck in running at Newmarket last time though and is impossible to oppose on that evidence.
