Verdict
Mount Vettore hails from a yard that looks to have some fair three year olds at the moment and we will side with him to beat Gjovic and Imperialistic. Lynda Ramsden's team have looked to be well forward in their work this season and Mount Vettore ran a sound enough race behind Free Trip at Doncaster on his last start. Vettori's progeny have capabilities on the surface so there is every reason to suggest that he can handle it today. Gjovic is still a maiden but it looks a case of when rather than if he will lose it. He stays further than this and could be difficult to peg back if Kevin Darley employs positive tactics. Imperialisitic finished behind Mount Vettore on their last meeting and the pair resume rivalries with Karl Burke's charge now 6lb better off for a 3.25 length beating. He has shown form on the surface at Haydock and could go close now that his yard are hitting form. Royal Distant has good juvenile form and while he is not underestimated, his predominantly American-led breeding lessens enthusiasm on today's surface. We go with Mount Vettore.
