Benbyas bolted up in a contest at Pontefract earlier in the week and can land a quickfire double at the expense of Turtle Valley and Middlethorpe. The young apprentice gave the old campaigner a canny ride in a race over 1m4f at Pontefract and with the partnership escaping a penalty, Declan Carroll has decided to chance his arm quickly. An out-and-out front runner over hurdles and on the flat, if he gets clear, he will be very difficult to peg back down the Haydock home strait. Turtle Valley is another to be turned out quickly albeit under a 3lb penalty. Simon Dow's charge is at his best when the mud is flying and is still potentially very well handicapped vis-a-vis his form of a couple of years ago. Paul Doe keeps the ride. Middlethorpe is another to appreciate some cut underfoot although it is arguable that his better form is over twelve furlongs. Nakwa has been busy over the winter and showed fair form behind Archie Babe at Newcastle while Nobratinetta showed an aptitiude to the surface during her bumpers and will be plugging on when others have cried enough. The market is watched with regard to Lillebror while hurdler, Edmo Yewkay looks the pick of the two Tim Easterby runners. Benbyas gets our vote in the last.
