In depth

Verdict

Messias da Silva, Aye Aye Digby and Rubirosa are shortlisted in this handicap and the vote is given to Rubirosa. The selection will have had his confidence boosted by his recent win at Ayr and the manner of that success marked him down as one to stay on the right side of. He has his optimum ground conditions and he can go well. Messias da Silva looks to be going the right way on the evidence of her recent win at Lingfield, and this expensive purchase should give our selection the most to think about. That Lingfield win has worked out well and she can go close. Aye Aye Digby was well backed when he won last time out and sprinting is clearly his game. He had disappointed over 7f previously but he has trip and ground to suit today so he is not one to dismiss lightly. Mark Johnston has not got his string in peak form at present, so Ramatni may be best watched at present, especially as he looks to have a little to find to beat to beat some of these. Rubirosa won well last time and he can score again here.
