      Verdict

      After six handicaps wins this year, Norville is unsurprisingly proving difficult to place now. This looks easier than the Listed race he contested at Chester last Saturday but he may still find KAKATOSI too strong. Andrew Balding's four-year-old chased home the useful Beacon Lodge over C&D on his reappearance and has his sights lowered after tackling Group 3 company in his last two starts. The others appear to have something to find on the form book with Shamandar proving most disappointing since a promising comeback at Ascot and finishing behind Reignier and Imperial Djay in last week's Bunbury Cup at Newmarket.
