In depth

Verdict

NATHANIEL is impossible to oppose but his odds will reflect the fact. He finished runner-up to the brilliant Frankel on his debut and then occupied the same place behind Picture Editor, who subsequently won again, at Doncaster in September. Barring accidents, John Gosden's colt should open his account here. Madrasa finished sixth on his debut over a mile in October and will appreciate the longer trip, while Tartan Jura can only improve on his first start when he was beaten out of sight at Doncaster.
