Verdict
PENTLAND HILLS came to win his race on his reappearance at Cheltenham but blew up having jumped the last disputing the lead. He pulled hard that day but he appears to have retained the ability which saw him win Grade 1 races at Cheltenham and Aintree last season. Cornerstone Lad bravely held off a below-par Buveur D’Air in the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle but it’s asking a lot for him to give weight to three smart performers in this. Ballyandy is consistent but has only won a handicap in the last two years. Darasso was last seen over fences in March of last year but has improved under the guidance of Joseph O’Brien and it would be no surprise to see him go close.
