In depth

Verdict

This looks to lie between Progressive, Roman Ark and Wellbeing, with the vote going to Progressive. In keeping with his name, Progressive is a lot better than the bare form of his Plumpton win might suggest and he looks to hold a very good chance here. Roman Ark won well at Carlisle after having shown decent form beforehand and sets the benchmark for the form of the race and can also go well, while Wellbeing, a Group winner on the Flat two years ago when trained by Henry Cecil, is of huge interest on his hurdling debut here for Philip Hobbs. Of the remainder, Greenawn, Dances With Wolves and Averse have to improve on their best efforts to date to feature. This brings us back to the selection, which is Progressive.
