Verdict

There is a distinct possibility that Howard Johnson could be enjoying another profitable day by this time and his representative Island Faith is given preference over Gdames, who won in good style earlier in the week but would not want the ground to be too testing and has more to do under a 6lb penalty. A bigger threat to the selection may come from Town Crier, who had the race at his mercy when falling on his previous visit to this track. He has subsequently brushed up on his jumping and can give them all plenty to think about today. Upgrade is a law unto himself these days but is a prime candidate to tow them along. However, his concentration is not always what it should be and he is not one to trust wholeheartedly. Whereas it remains to be seen if Bambi de L'Orme makes the journey after his efforts at Sandown yesterday. Therefore, we stick with the more reliable option in Island Faith, who traveled supremely well when winning at Warwick and, with that from being boosted by the runner up since, he has a rock-solid chance of following up this afternoon.
