Verdict

The winner of this race is going to have to be very useful and we'll shortlist Wanango, Echo Point and High Day, and give the vote to Wanango. The Tommy Stack-trained selection has looked very useful in winning a bumper and his sole start over hurdles. As the saying goes, he could be anything and can give the Irish a second-successive win on the card. The facile Sedgefield winner, Echo Point, and the progressive dual novice winner High Day can give him the most to do, although First Look, who gave the useful Rasharrow a scare at Kelso last time, and the 2004 Derby fourth, Percussionist, who makes his hurdling debut today, are, or look to be, no mugs, add further intrigue to the contest, but the vote goes to Wanango.
