In depth
Verdict
John Gosden's Strike lost no caste in defeat behind his impressive stablemate Day Island at Salisbury last time and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account, with Stocking Island and Woolly Back rated the main dangers. Stocking Island showed improved form for the step up in trip at Ripon last time and rates a bigger danger than Woolly Back, who may have been flattered by his proximity to Dallool in testing conditions here last month. Luca Cumani's Pope's Hill makes his British debut having run in Italy on his only start at two and is difficult to evaluate, while Alan Bailey's Kelbrook needs to improve to trouble the selection, Strike.
