Verdict
Fast ground and an inside draw will favour Ho Leng, who is very well handicapped at the moment and in this smaller field should have less of the traffic problems than last time out. A distance winner and from a stable in form, the gelding can win this. Morro Castle has looked exposed for some time, but some creditable runs have meant that the handicapper has not seen fit to drop him anywhere near his highest winning mark of 79. Still 7lbs higher than that, and from a wide draw, winning here will be difficult again. One who will appreciate the fast ground is Danelor. The four-year-old has failed to make the frame on his last six starts, but a reproduction of his running in York's John Smith's Cup would give him every chance here. Silk St John is thrown in on his best form, though he hasn't shown that for over two years and his reappearance at Goodwood was hardly the lost encouraging.
