Verdict
Wise Tale is selected to get the better of Donovan, with Valuable and Middleham Park others worth a mention. Wise Tale is out to make amends after being pulled up two out in the race won by Migration at Market Rasen recently. That was a disappointing effort given his earlier success at the Lincolnshire track, but he has the ability to make up for that latest lapse. He was the first horse that Peter Niven bought as a trainer and now has the assistance of Tony Dobbin for the first time. The ground should be in his favour as well, and he can beat Donovan, winner of two of his last three starts. Richard Guest's New Zealand-bred is going up the weights though and it is only a matter of time before he goes chasing. Valuable looks a bit high in the handicap as well, and will have to have more use made of him than when staying on behind Flame Phoenix at Sedgefield. Middleham Park shaped quite well behind an in-form opponent at Bangor and may do better over this shorter trip, while Michaels Dream is a fair dual-purpose performer, despite the fact that he was pulled up at Cartmel. Chapter House never figured on his last engagement at Market Rasen but any market support now would be interesting. However, in a trappy affair, we reckon that Wise Tale might just return to form with conditions in his favour.
