In depth

Verdict

Ganbei has looked very progressive in winning handicaps here and at Kelso and though 10lb higher than last time should still get into the frame. BRONCO BILLY ran a shocker in heavy going at Wetherby but is much better than that, as he showed with Richard Johnson on board when runner-up at Carlisle and landing a bumper there earlier. He has the scope to do better and gets the vote to gain his first victory over timber. Phare Isle was in superb form at this time a year ago and won very easily over the track and trip. He looked on the way back at Market Rasen last time so could prove a threat. Shinooki completed a double before well beaten in that latter event and may be in the handicapper's grip while Wake Your Dreams hasn't won since 2013.
