Verdict
This is a tough race for punters to call but The Bandit, Mesmeric and Galey River are all shortlisted and the vote is given to Galey River. The selection disappointed after being well-supported in a banded race on the flat at Lingfield last time, but he had run well in this grade in his last outing over hurdles when third behind Vigoureux, and if he can reproduce that effort here then he should go close. The Bandit looks to be well-treated in this sphere and he returns to hurdling after a spell over the bigger obstacles. If he can reproduce the pick of his hurdles form then he will not be far away at the finish. Mesmeric hails from the in-form Brendan Powell yard and he is entitled to plenty of respect after beating Dream Falcon last time. However, this looks more difficult and he will need to improve to get his head in front. It¿s Wallace fell last time on heavy ground, and if his confidence has not been affected he could have place claims on this more suitable ground. However, for the winner we return to Galey River who gets the tentative vote.
