In depth
Verdict
A pin would come in handy in this really poor race, and only a modest vote goes to Inn From The Cold over Nifty Roy, Nuzzle and Barney. There really is little worthwhile form to go on here, but in the hope that Inn From The Cold can recapture his form of a few seasons ago, Len Lungo's charge is selected to make a winning return. The 10-year-old only had two outings last season, and has not been seen since finishing sixth to stablemate Eriskay at Hexham in May. That was over three miles, and hopefully this drop back in trip will not tax his stamina as much as he bids to put the clock back. Nifty Roy won a couple of chases earlier this year but is much better treated over timber so has to merit a mention, while Nuzzle will come on for her return here last month but would prefer faster ground based on her Uttoxeter success in May. Barney may have found the race coming too quickly when pulled up at Carlisle, having finished second at Hexham just three days earlier, and so a month's rest will hopefully have done him good. He is yet another to consider, but our speculative choice is Inn From The Cold.
