Verdict

Harry The Viking was last seen running fourth in the Eider at Newcastle in February and would have every chance on that form, though he was beaten easily by Ballyben at Carlisle earlier. Malcolm Jefferson’s charge can be forgiven his run in the North Yorkshire National in January as he didn’t stay. This is Double Whammy’s time of year and he should be approaching peak fitness after a couple of runs but this is a better race than the ones in which Nakadam has been placed lately. CARRIGDHOUN shows no sign of slowing down and had the pace to win over 3m at Carlisle last time having finished second behind Harry The Viking over 4m here in December when conceding 12lb to the winner. Scotswell loves it here and is the likely pace-setter, though he’s probably not the force of old.
