Nonrunner
The 10-year-old Fortunate Dave faces no easy task under a penalty for his narrow success over Pasagai at Market Rasen last week and a better bet looks to be another runner under a penalty, MARKINGTON, who gets the vote ahead of Political Paddy. The last mentioned won well enough here last month and he has to be respected having been raised just 3lbs for that success but the field were closely bunched at the end of the race that day and the form may not amount to a great deal. Peter Monteith's Signalman has been well held in his last couple of starts over hurdles and again on the flat at Hamilton earlier this month and he may be a shade high in the weights at present. Karen McLintock's Run Forest Run has more to do off an 8lb higher mark than when successful at Sedgefield last month and of more interest may be Micky Hammond's Industrial Star. The eight-year-old is in good form at present having won his last two starts and a 5lb rise for the latest of them at Market Rasen is perfectly fair. Preference though is for Peter Bowen's Markington, who improved dramatically from his reappearance run at Huntingdon last month when winning well at Newton Abbot last week and he can defy the penalty for that success.
