Verdict

A field of progressive hurdlers should make for a competitive renewal. Clondaw Caitlin has been winning mares' only races in good style and is receiving weight from the rest including CALVA D’AUGE. But the latter defied a double penalty when scoring in the heavy going at Plumpton and it could pay to stick with Paul Nicholl’s charge who has the edge on these terms with Cheddleton. The latter has also been winning in testing ground including last month’s victory over 2m here while both Elf De Re and Ebony Jewel found one to good over these hurdles on their respective latest starts with the former weighted to come out best of that pair. Multellie won over a longer trip at Carlisle recently but maiden hurdle winner Ubetya has the more scope.
