Verdict
A fairly tightly-knit bunch and it's hard to be dogmatic in making a selection but we'll opt for Our Gamble ahead of La Coruna. The selection showed a very good level of form last season, winning at Sandown before running respectably over six furlongs in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom. The downsides are that she has not raced for 331 days or on going this soft. Turning to the others. Michael Jarvis's Autumn Pearl came good on the all-weather over five furlongs last time and should be improving, as should the beautifully-bred Bread Of Heaven, who came good on her final run last year at Redcar. Cusco was quite highly-tried towards the end of lasts season and, to be fair, whilst doing quite well, seemed better at a longer trip. Smart sprinter Deportivo's half-sister, La Coruna, won both her races well last season, but now drops back in trip and has never raced on going this slow. Dolce Piccata, who both receive four pounds from their rivals, also did well at two and cannot be dismissed from things either. Overall, though, we will side with Our Gamble.
