        Verdict

        In the first division of the maiden, Lucayan Legend gets the nod ahead of Great Exhibition. The Richard Hannon-trained selection would be interesting if there is money for him as he is related to a number of winners and this race does not appear to be that strong. Great Exhibition cost $1.8 million as a yearling and, while he showed a good deal of promise at two, still has a bit to prove. However, he has to be on the shortlist here, as do James Fanshawe's Pass The Port and Sailmaker, second in a run-of-the-mill Bath maiden last time. Captain Marryat appeared to show improved form last time, but was beaten by a horse rated 40 going into that race. First Centurion should appreciate the step up to a mile, and ought to be improving. With some good stables represented, watch the betting with regard to the others but, for us, the selection is Lucayan Legend.
