Verdict
A good start to the card here and a race where we will take a chance on Listen To Reason to follow up his recent comeback success, with Burgundy, Fen Gypsy and Moscow Times others for the short list. The James Given-trained selection made a pleasing debut at Doncaster last year before injuring himself at Ripon. His trainer gave him plenty of time to recover from that knock and his patience was rewarded when the colt cam out and won on his seasonal reappearance at Catterick last month. He has plenty of scope for further improvement and looked straight enough there to avoid the bounce factor this time around, while the step up in trip looks to be ideal, so we will take him to score. Burgundy has been in tremendous form and is given plenty of respect. Due to go up 4lb at the weekend, the seven-year-old has won three of his last four starts. However, this drop back to a mile is not necessarily in his favour and he is just overlooked this time. Fen Gypsy remains on the same mark as when taking a Windsor handicap on fast ground last time out and, with course form to his name, he is another who can go very close, while youngster Moscow Times found his feet at Salisbury last time, when similar trip and ground clearly suited, and he can be thereabouts. For the selection though we will take Listen To Reason to come up with the answer.
