In depth

Verdict

An interesting handicap here where we will take a chance on Fait Le Jojo to see off Mr Ed and Darn Good, with most of the others recent form questionable. Fait Le Jojo doesn't even have recent form on the level, for this is his first outing since taking the Breheny Stakes at Newmarket in 2000. However, he is a classy sort over the sticks, where he has forged a good career in the care of Philip Hobbs. The Minehead trainer does not run too many in this sphere and when he does it pays to take note, so it is likely that the top weight will be fit and ready to run a big race here and we think he is up to winning this nice prize. Mr Ed is a consistent sort who has finished bridesmaid on his latest two starts. Eased when beaten at Sandown last time, his second to Mostarsil at the same track in June reads well in the context of this race and he will not be far away. Of the others, Darn Good makes some appeal. Three recent runs at Warwick have yielded two staying successes and a second last time, off a mark 1lb lower than this, and he is also capable of running a big race here. However, we like the look of Fait Le Jojo on his return to the Flat and take him to score.
