Verdict
There is sure to be plenty of pace on here, which should suit Jazz Scene, who is selected in preference to Diamond Lodge and Mystical Girl, who should ensure that none of their rivals will be given any peace at any stage of the race. Pedrillo, who as a lightly raced gelding from the Sir Mark Prescott team, has to be respected and is one to keep an eye on in the betting. State Dilemma is another that could figure strongly as he has some solid form to his name from last season. However, he has struggled with the handicapper this season and may need a little respite before he can get truly competitive again. Diamond Lodge will be a popular choice, as this has already been a rewarding period for her. She does have to put a poor run from last time behind her though and it may be prudent to look elsewhere for the winner today. This search brings us back to Jazz Scene, who was far from disgraced in a Group 3 in Ireland when he last raced. His previous form entitles him to the utmost respect in a race like this and, as Mick Channon now appears to have found the key to what had been troubling some of his string, Jazz Scene has a good opportunity to put his record straight this afternoon.
