Verdict

Border Castle and Catalini are interesting newcomers here but Salisbury winner Iqte Saab sets a decent standard and is the percentage call. Catalini, one of two newcomers from the Mick Channon stable in the race (the trainer is also represented by Romeo's Day) is an American-bred son of Seeking The Gold and is likely to be forward enough to do himself justice. A similar comment applies to Sir Michael Stoute's Border Castle, a half-brother to middle distance winner Promotion. Marcus Tregoning's Snow Ridge is stoutly-bred on the dam's side and may need further, while of those to have raced Leicester maiden winner Boule D'Or obviously has to be respected but the vote goes to Iqte Saab. John Dunlop's colt had to go round the outside of horses to win at Salisbury over six furlongs on his debut so probably won more cosily than the winning margin would suggest. The step up to seven furlongs is expected to suit and it will take a good one to beat Iqte Saab.
