      Verdict

Another tough race to call but Rock Garden is proving to be a tough customer to deal with and she is preferred over Rakassa and Researcher - although Pougacheva finally showed a willingness to put in something like she is capable of when scoring at Hereford last week. However, she has never looked to be one to trust implicitly and she is opposable under her penalty this afternoon. Castanet and Taksina also have a little to find and are best watched today. Therefore, we return to the first trio mentioned to fight out the finish. Rakassa can be given a chance of reversing recent form with the selection after shaping up well in a tougher race at Taunton last time. But she needs to prove that she has the resolution to force her head in front in a battle and is for the brave only today. Researcher is another who should have won more races than she has and will do well to concede weight all round today. So it can pay to stick with the improving Rock Garden, who looks to be at least a step of the handicapper at the moment.
