Verdict

A poor opener that can be taken by Wibbadune, who is not the fastest in the equine world but can finally break his maiden tag at the main expense of Earl Compton and The Carpet Man. The selection has been running well in defeat and was not far away at Wolverhampton last time. He is susceptible to something with a turn of foot, but there doesn't look an abvious rival with that so we'll side with him. Earl Compton drops back to the minimum trip and has blinkers on for the first time. It's not beyond the realms in poor company like this that the headgear could have a decisive effect, but his general form is ordinary at best. The Carpet Man also returns to this trip and in context his form is as good as most here, so he should be capable of making the frame. Least said soonest mended here and Wibbadune is a gun-to-the-head selection.
