          Verdict

          A tough-looking handicap to try and solve with no fewer than 18 runners set to line up over the minimum trip. However, it may not be as competitive as it appears at first glance with a high draw a distinct advantage so it is probably best to concentrate on those on the far side. Among them Blue Velvet has been running well without luck recently and probably needs dropping a couple of pounds, Eastern Trumpeter has claims but goes best for Kevin Darley (Richard Hughes rides here), while Our Fred does not win very often, a comment that also applies to Tomthevic. Texas Gold has claims on the form shown at Newbury recently but the TEAMtalk selection has to be Sunley Sense. Mick Channon's six-year-old was given a superb ride when successful in an apprentices race over six furlongs on Thursday, for which he is unpenalised here, and back over his favoured distance the son of Komaite should take some catching from his number 16 stall.
