In depth

Verdict

Carlton Scroop runs this track particularly well but an 8lb rise for his latest ready success may be stretching things a little as the seven year old has never won from a mark this high and it can pay to look elsewhere. Ateeb could go well if the visor has the desired affect whilst Barliffey has obvious claims having returned to form of late but his strike rate is not compelling; cheekpieces may help. Lombok is another that needs things to go his way and preference is for the least exposed runner in the field, STATUS SYMBOL. The well related bumper winner was far from disgraced on his handicap bow at Sandown and, although the form is nothing out of the ordinary, looks up to winning this contest from the same perch. Epsom Salts could go well at a price with Chain Of Events, Monkton Vale and Beauchamp Xiara amongst others to consider.
