In depth

Verdict

A moderate contest filled with disappointing types. None more so than the maiden Stagnite, who had several useful efforts to his name as a juvenile. This is a drop in class for him and he gets the vote. The main danger could prove to be Allenwood, who like Stagnite is looking for that elusive first success. A regular in these events, he looks the one most likely to take advantage if Stagnite fails to produce. The Gambler showed enough as a juvenile to suggest a little race can come his way, but this will be his first outing since November and he may find the two principals, that bit sharper.
