Verdict
This is a competitive little heat with all the usual suspects taking part, namely Glenrock and Revolve, but with the old-timer Astrac in such good form, he may be worth taking a chance with to complete the hat-trick. Annabel King's evergreen campaigner has run at every racecourse in Britain bar here and Chepstow, and he looks to have been found an ideal opening here off just a 3lbs higher mark than when scoring at Bath in a better race than this. No shortage of dangers including the well handicapped Glenrock, who has won off a 25lbs higher mark in the past. It would come as no surprise to see the lightly-raced Revolve take a hand in proceedings. Hughie Morrison's gelding needs to be forgiven a poor effort last time, but if reproducing his previous run at Folkestone when chasing home Mandarin Spirit (winner again since), he will be difficult to keep out of the frame. Snow Bunting has won twice for Leanne Kershaw and is another who should run well, but we will stick with the old man of the party Astrac, who can dish out a beating to his younger rivals.
