In depth
Verdict
This won't take much winning and Perfect Portrait looks to have been found an easy opening to get off the mark at the first time of asking. David Loder's gelding is a half-brother to the high-class miler Darnay, as well as dual-winner Matangi. He may have most to fear from Paciano, who has shown enough to suggest he has a little race in him, but with a handicap mark of 74, it will be a surprise if he is good enough to trouble the selection on these terms. Isaz has also shown enough to suggest he can win his maiden, but he will have to wait a little longer yet, while the rest of them look out of their depth against Perfect Portrait, who is taken to show his rivals a clean pair of heels.
